Words of Wisdom

Soooo I get to talk to my Grandpa Randall a lot. He's probably the best. Some simple words of wisdom that have effected my life.

Don't force life to happen. If something is natural and right it will happen so just chiiiiill.

People do stupid things, very rarely are they trying to get a reaction from you. Either way you always have control of your own feelings. choose not to get upset.

The hardest part of a day for me is waking up. In turn, the most productive thing I can do in a day is wake-up. SO, if I have a good reason to get out of my warm bed then I'm set for my whole day. Have a plan, get up, get going.

Just don't. Everyone is going to have an opinion about everything you do or don't do AND the way that you go about accomplishing those things. A good portion of those people are more than willing to share those opinions. People will tell you what to do. All you have to do is NOT. don't listen, don't people-please, DO what Heavenly Father says.

I think. thiiiink.

contemplating life THURSDAY. So I went on a date yesterday.  We were going to dinner... this guy is great! Good-Hearted, so so kind. It's delightful to spend time with someone who wants to spend time with you. Im learning what I like in a date. If I leave having gotten to know the other person as well as understand myself a little better. If I am inspired (but not stressed). Also, if I got to genuinely laugh. As I chatted with whom we'll refer to as Classy Man, he asked me some questions that helped me create some goals.

CM asked:
  1. What is your favorite piece of art?
  2. What is your favorite Medium? Why?
  3. You like Rock Climbing? What do you know about it?
Goals:
  • Find my favorite piece of art. Love it. Get stoked!there ARE things out there worth remembering. Try to be EXCITED to remember things!
  • Instead of being on the defense for my love of Photography, understand that people are glad that I enjoy it. I can be glad too! Don't get mad...get GLAD. Also, I really do love other mediums. I can keep learning about them so I can help others understand why I do what I do.
  • research the things that I love. intelligentconversations are SO FUN.
SO thank you Classy Man. youre stellar! I'd love to go out with you again.... oh wait. I get to on the 4th :) yaaaay!!

IVE ALSO DONE SOME READING... well listening actually.

In his talk "How Do I Love Thee?" Elder Jeffery R. Holland said

-There are lots of limitations in all of us that we hope our sweethearts will overlook. I suppose no one is as handsome or as beautiful as he or she wishes, or as brilliant in school or as witty in speech or as wealthy as we would like, but in a world of varied talents and fortunes that we can’t always command, I think that makes even more attractive the qualities we can command—such qualities as thoughtfulness, patience, a kind word, and true delight in the accomplishment of another. These cost us nothing, and they can mean everything to the one who receives them.-

Ive realized lately how many limitations I really have. However, after reading this I realized that I am progressing in the qualities that I can command. WHEW. that makes me feel lots better. haha

... ALSO...

-In a dating and courtship relationship, I would not have you spend five minutes with someone who belittles you, who is constantly critical of you, who is cruel at your expense and may even call it humor. Life is tough enough without having the person who is supposed to love you leading the assault on your self-esteem, your sense of dignity, your confidence, and your joy. In this person’s care you deserve to feel physically safe and emotionally secure.-

I LOVE THIS. what a great reminder! Not even 5 Minutes people. I know Heavenly Father wants me to be THE HAPPIEST that I can be. So I'd like to thank Classy Man for a great date. Heavenly Pizza by the way.

breakbreakbreakbreakbreakbreakbreak.

Let me just explain a few of my days to you.
this break has been advantageous.

My first day of FREEDOM consisted of work (casual Fridaaaaay) and the crepeiest crepe party of the century. I helped Beks clean her bathroom and kitchen so she could live in a sparkley apt. thuuuus.... i wanted to live in a sparkley apaaaartment too!

SO I got out the soft scrub and gave my shower some love. Its sick but I will admit that we had mold growing in the grout SO of course I used my toothbrush to annihilate all gross-ossities. I know, I know. SICKWHYDUDE? well i didn't have a spare okay people. Can I just say that my shower is feeling ultra new? it is.

Later that night Beks and Gordan brought a Fh'zookie to me which was the nicest thing... I ate way too much and BOY did i need a toothbrush. SO I bummed a ride off BEKAAAH at 12:30 in the AM and I got the cheapest of all cheap toothbrushes from Wally-world.

I was exhausted and slept like a rock. My hair is probably the greatest in the mornings... especially when I need a haircut! haha WHAT.

Sunday i taught combined Stake Sunday school which was super ultra fun! I curled my hair... I straight up looked like a poodle. when that happens all you can do is own it! I was wearing my 80s sweater dress... someone told my roommate that I looked like the capitol lady from the Hunger Games... HAHA they said all I needed was my hair dyed pink. I have to admit Im tempted.

It is so cold in Logan that my CTR ring FROZE TO MY FINGER. It blistered kind of and then was a scare. I know it sounds impossible but its REAL.

They had to stick both my arms at the Biomat yesterday.... terrible luck. haha The poor needle guy was so embarrassed. he said my vein moved, Im a little upset that my body was out to get me! I didn't die or nothin though :) actually i felt pretty legit walking outta there with TWO elbows wrapped. and some monies in my pocket.

I found this beautiful piano in Hyde Park!

I made wassail and donuts for this poetry SLAMM that Gordan and I planned annnd after our some-odd 20 guests left McKenna and I got ourselves into some awkward relationship situations... like lovely Chris and I as pictured. and yes we do have mistletoe hanging in front of our front door.

Kendal made these lovelies for our PRE-TEMPLE breakfast.
I did some initiatories for his family. There was this cute Temple worker. She said "and can I adopt you" at the end of what she needed to say. it was SO cute!!!

oh, and did I mention that my family is the greatest?

Looking Homeless 101

that title probably isnt politically correct. Lets just say today I look loverly and this is how it was accomplished :)

1. walk around Logan in eight degree temperatures on Wednesday morning (note: frozen nose hairs are to be expected.)
2. then proceed to donate plasma
3.  After which you shall walk in twelve degree weather to the furthest side of Planet Earth (aka: campus) possible. this action will earn you your very own NofR (Nose of Rudolf) of which you may have until at least April. maybe May!
4. Go eat dinneeeeeeerrrrrr with friends.
5. stay up all night.
6.  get ready at 5 in the morning
7. get bundled up to catch the bus in the FRIGID Thursday morning air
8. look like this.

i look so good.

I survived this lovely semester. AND yes i turned in my sculpture on time. Last official day of classes tomorrow YAAAAAAAAAY.

I was then 5 minutes late to class, my roomate was a PEACH and drove me up to campus. Face 1/2 covered in day old makeup, rockin the snow college hoodie, not having eaten anything. can you PICTURE this?? ya i figured you could so i didn't take a photo... ew. haha! professional procrastinator erm... yes.welcome to the life of JaNessa. I know. youre probably thinking -who would CHOOSE such a life?- well, for some reason the college JaN BaM does...lets be honest people, it is a talent of mine. (I really dislike stressing my mom out.... SORRY Mom!) Im actually getting alot better about not putting things off!! I don't procrastinate NEARLY as much :) buuuut lets be honest people, it is a talent of mine!

wellllll....on my way back home after 3 hours of class I stopped for a breakfast bagel thing at the library cafe' (I hadn't eaten all day and it was 3 in the afternoon!)I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT PEOPLE! I mean... I just didn't enjoy it cause it was screaming "I AM TERRIBLE for YOOOU" so much cream cheese... and only egg white! mmm I should have just gotten a brownie! for crying out LOUD haha. Lets CHOOSE our TERRIBLE calories a little more carefully people!

Like eating PASTA at midnight! haha

Christopher and Jasilyn: are so so fun to be around!
They drove me up from Logan and chatted about how ALL their future kids are going to be just like Jasilyn. right Christopher? :)
Braedon:is in Texas.
We were wondering what he was EATING for Thanksgiving dinner. ShaeLyn and I burned  the edges of papers to look SWEET and wrote him letters on them at like 1 o'clock in the am. (ShaeLyn is a bad influnce. haha)so maybe we'll get some updates on him soon.
ShaeLyn: is CRAY.
we had lots of sister bonding time. LOTS. we made ugly sweaters, made hummus, made a stop action movie. (we are CRAFTYYYY) stayed up WAY too late and talked like babies til the cows came home!she has this talent... waking up super late and looking gorgeous. talk about LITERAL beauty sleep. SHEESH!
Brooks:we like him.
He is so willing to help! He is teaching me to play the piano and he is VERY patient... I mean, please. anyone willing to teach this old dog new tricks is a SAINT! ;) He also helped me create some of the elements that went into my video assignment. He's so great!
Tanner: This kid.
hahahahahaha! That's just about all that can be said. he is FUNNY! his new thing is you say I love you and he says... "I love you more." TOTALLY being sincere. so you say well I love you MOST... he says "I love you the most-er"... you can't beat him. Man if we could gain that kind of a love capacity ... ZION people. haha he helped me with lots of the artsy stuff in my video!
Lauren: Last.
The BEST of all the game!! She was sick this week while I was there... and burning up! sheesh!! we pumped her full of meds. but we had some good chats. SHE KNOWS THE WHOLE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS!! and recited it to me from atop a chair :) she gets prettier every time I see her. we did her hair curly for Thanksgiving dinner. GORGEOUS. she cut out SO many stars and made the planet Jupiter for my video.

Longest post EVER.
youre welcome ;)

Happy first day of December.
