Halloween has never been my favorite holiday. I think I just need to get more into it... maybe? So we had a double date with these cute friends :) I went to Switzerland with Marcus so that's how I know him and his girlfriend was at Snow College in the art department when I was there and we had a photo class last semester. These are my people! haha
Of course we carved a Pokemon jack o'lantern right? It is so sweet! Landon hadn't carved a pumpkin since he was like 7 so this was good practice. Begginers luck I think...cause I mean SO good!
Landon and I are going to the trunk or treat in Erda on Friday so we will be dressing up. I'm excited! you should be excited too. ;)
I had the greatest weekend. Labor Day was much needed!
Friday we got to babysit Hudson. Cute booooooy. He's smiling now and I'm definitely his favorite Aunt... okay so he cried alot. BUT we're still friends so its fine. :) Landon beat Hudson in the sleeping contest. He was alsleep first by a looooooong shot. haha I'm glad Jarom and Maddi got to go dancing since that's their thing.
Saturday Lando and I went on a hike... okay so we didn't really have enough time for a HIKE so we found a nature trail. It was nice to just be in the mountain. ya know? It's already cooling down in good ol' Logan Canyon, next time I'll definitely take a jacket. Cause there will be many much more next times. haha
We found this log... or I guess it kind of found us. I mean look at this dragon thing. what? straight out of Narnia.
We went to Walmart and found out that Poptart does a Peanut butter one. WHAT. yeah trying that one day when I'm rich. haha We talked to Linds on the phone while we shopped. Those twin though haha
We also got to be at Hudson's baby blessing on Sunday. That CUTE boy! I love my family so much. I can't explain it! theyre just the greatest.
Lando and i went to Paris ... Idaho after haha and we just got to play play plaaaaaay! One day I'll learn to dirt bike. but this time I rode in the razor, we headed up to Bloomington lake which was super fun and then we rode the four-wheeler back! All of the fun with the families. I don't know how life can be so happy.
We were in the same ward growing up and went to school together. I had a crush on him in 7th grade, he "liked" me Jr. year.
His twin Sister is one of my best friends.
Braedon was called to the Lubbock, TX mission and Landon was THERE. He got home in January and has been working on the family farm (and teaching this girl how to drive tractor. I am tractor certified. nbd.)
He just started school at Utah StateUniversity(TODAY) and has work filming for the football team.
"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" is his favorite movie. If you want to get to know his sense of humor watch this movie!... But actually, probably just wait and watch it with him. It will become your favorite too :)
At the moment he drives his Grandparents old Cadillac. I looooove the Caddi.
The first time I saw him after his mish I made him dinner. Buffalo steak, quinoa, mushroom gravy and spinach. He ate every bite. (later on I DID realize how weird of a meal that was and vowed never to cook it for people who like "normal" food again so if I offer you dinner don't be too afraid ;)) We rotate between eating absurd amounts of spinach and Dino nuggets. Landon is still trying to convince me that Sprinkle Donut Crunch cereal is a REAL food because cereal has the word real in it. haha pretty solid argument right? whateverrrrr!
I was very well aware of the fact that once someone lives in Erda a little piece of their heart never leaves.
Who knew that a HUGE chunk of mine was born and raised in that little piece of heaven?
So sometimes really comical things happen. such as the photograph below. hahaha thats all i have to say to THAT!
Ive been shoe shopping for THE perfect pair of trail runners aaaand lo and behold.... ^^^ these arent them. haha i tried on liiike 8 pairs of shoes at striders and then went next door to a camping store and the perfect shoes were there! i got them online for a sweet deal and even though i don't have a picture... i love them! (im glad i didn't have to purchase these ugly red ones. haha)
can i hear everybody say CHACOS. These are my "Jerusalem cruisers" as my dad would call them. all of the hiking and happiness happens while wearing these shoes. I love them. im excited!! Switzerland cruisin' here i come!
ohmyprecious. This lil' guy. look at his tiny hands!!
i just can't... oh how i love him!
I got to go on a SUPER fun date with one of my best frieeeeends! he drove all the way from Tooele to Ogden to fly kites and go take me to Prairie Schooners. best. thing. everrrrr! he made sure to get me a hippie kite haha and we played glow in the dark frisbee after...im pretty terrible. He didn't know he'd practically signed up for boot camp when he asked to play!
oh and these friends though! we stayed up to watch a meteor shower... on the night of May 23rd. it was cloudy though! haha we swam in Beks pool and watched the tiny patch of clear sky. I didn't see any meteors but they did. We camped (okay more like just slept in tents) out on the sod fields and slept to rain hitting our tents. HEAVEN.
I Learned to drive a TRACTOR. a real one. it was the best thing. I am officially a farm girl in case anyone was looking to hire? ;)
Logan is my hoooooome. I love it here!! this lil' peach is Chris, he was my #1 fro fan while i was growin my hair out and said he'd do a faux hawk if i had a fro. this sunday he surprised my with his hair do haha so great!
Here's Shay and ShaeRyn at the pot party we had when the season was all done at work! we had so much fun. That job was a dream come true! and the biggest blessing!! I couldn't have asked for anything better.
And Memorial Day was great! One of my favorite holidays i just realized! its so fun to go to these familiar places and see familiar names. Aggie icecream and sunshine make the world go round!
So Maggi and I bought tickets to see Ingrid Michaelson back in January. We were well aware that the performance was during finals week. We were well aware that we would most likely be broke by this time. We were WELL aware that we would love this concert and that it would be worth every effort put forth to experience Ingrid's perfection.
The best live show.
She was so fuuuuunny!
She was squeaky CLEAN!
her voice is incredible.
we heart her.
Sometimes music is just the thing that gets those thoughts you need to think GOING. This song titled "Home" is one of those.
What home do you think of?
where does your mind go?
My family is where mine wandered to. My parents and grandparents specifically... not necessarily a place. THEN i thought of Logan, that drive through Sardine Canyon that shoots you into the valley with a smile on your face...
then i thought HOLY COW.
the TEMPLE.
in my head this song talks about the temple.
"where i go
when ive got no where else to go
even when my body goes away
my soul will stay"
Take a listen ^^^
Also after having a good little chat with myself the other day it was realized that i get to the point when doing things by myself and for myself is my life. I had a good reminder while i was listening to the chorus of this song. Simple Song- The Shins
"I know that things can really get rough,
When you go it alone.
Don't go thinking you gotta be tough,
And bleed like a stone. Could be there's nothing else in our lives so critical,
As this little home.
Well, this would be a simple song,
To say what you done.
I told you 'bout all those fears,
And away they did run.
You sure must be strong"
^^^
I don't know why it struck my listen to this specifically BUT sometimes songs just speak to you.
Now that life is chillen out a little bit its time to start gathering needed items for Switzerland. OPE! aaaand my birthday is soon!! it will be MOTHERS day on my birthday this year :) :) and i get to talk to my BIGlil' Bro. :D
